The cotton flower blooms about 60 to 70 days after planting. These flowers start off as a pale yellow or creamy white color. Within the first 24 hours a pinkish-purple color takes over.
Once pollination is complete the petals whither and fall away.
What remains is the maturing cotton boll.
The boll opens as it becomes mature.
This is when we get to see the raw cotton.
The cotton seeds are found tucked inside each portion of cotton within the cotton bolls.
